Possible to "Design" the terrain generated?

Hi guys / gals,

Would it be possible to create terrain or portions of terrain ("regions?") that have specific topology/flora/landmarks?

I'm thinking I'd like to be able to say have a config file or some other way of directing the engine to in certain areas make very specific structures and landmarks.

Is this possible with this engine? would that break the whole concept of a voxel based engine?

Sorry I guess in my excitement I started asking n00bish questions before I even looked at the examples/code.
I had a look at the flatTerrain sample and I think I understand now how to generate specific terrain etc.

Very good idea, there is for example the minecraft biometerrain mod that tweaks minecraft code to add underwater lakes, move the snow line or even add some rifts . If they achieved it on minecraft without the source code we sure can achieve something !

But first we need a solid region system .
